Fun Events
*EVENT FULL* XL SUP Derby
Get together a team of up to 8 people and complete our 200m time trial on a Red Paddle Co. XL Paddleboard (provided by CBK Adventures). Just like at the Red Bull Soapbox Derby, you’re gonna gain points for fancy dress, theme, and creativity – it’s not just about the time you set.
*EVENT FULL* Wild Swimming
On both days we’ll be clearing the bay of all boards and boats for a while, so Cullercoats’ famous wild swimmers can take over the bay. We’re laying out a 200m lifeguarded swim circuit, so this is a great chance for seasoned swimmers to get together, or for beginners to try it out. You can swim just for fun or use the 200m circuit to time some laps, the choice is yours.
Freestyle “Anything Goes” Challenge
Show us your skills on your SUP, kayak or even a homemade raft. Whether it’s pivot turns, headstands or juggling, this 10-minute challenge is about showing the judges the most creative display possible on the water.
*EVENT FULL* SUPball UK: Give It A Go Session
Cullercoats is home to to SUPball UK, a brand new game developed in Australia, combining the best bits of land-based ball sports, but played on a SUP. Come and have a go with the UK’s first SUPball club, right here in Cullercoats, then you can call yourself one of the UK’s first SUPballers!
